L/R: Doug Barrett, Jenny Waycaster, Samantha Gibbons, Amy Clark, Daniel Tweig.

UAB's Bloom Studio is an invitation only, independent study class where design students gain real-world experience working directly with clients on Design for Good projects. Past projects have included Bibb County tourism brochures and a website for the Friends of the Cahaba organization.

On July 3rd, Bloom Studio work done on the Cahaba Blueway was shown during the announcement of the first Blueway launch called Moon River after the previous fish camp and dance hall located on the site.

Proposed booklet design for the Cahaba Blueway project

UAB design students Daniel Tweig, Amy Clark, Samantha Gibbons and Jenny Waycaster spent several months in the summer of 2011 working with Cayenne Creative and Alabama Innovation Engine on the creation of a logo and identity for the Cahaba Blueway. The system included a logo, collateral materials, signage, way finding, an iPhone app and a booklet.
